On 28th May, secretariat Kagawa visited Major General Watanabe (vice commander of Southern West Air Composite Division) at Naha AB. to encourage on participating unit to 2008 Red Flag Air Defense Exercise which is carried out at Eielson AB in Alaska and over Alaskan aerospace from 5th to 20th June, and handed encourage thing to MG.Watanabe at this meeting.　General will visit Alaska as inspector to this exercise.　JASDF dispatches unit to Elmendorf AB, Alaska.　Unit is temporally organized, commander is Col.Iwamoto (Flight Group Commander, 2nd Wing).　About 210 JASDF airmen are detailed, six F-15 fighters, one E-767 and six SAM sets are deployed for this exercise.　On route to Alaska and Japan, they have refueling training.　JAAGA cheers Red Flag Exercise every years on improving mutual understanding and friendship between US and Japan airmen.　We hope success of exercise.　(Reported by secretariat Ishiguro)
