On 18 January 2009, a new year party was held under the joint auspices of USAF Yokota Air Base and neighbor friendship clubs, it was called as Joint New Year Party.　JAAGA vice president Ochi, secretariat Takahashi, Bandoh, Minamoto and member Ishikawa participated in this event.　Two base commanders of JASDF Iruma and Fuchu AB attended it.　Party was started with US and Japan national flags entrance guarded by USAF honor guard, and both national anthems were performed with Japanese bamboo flute.　Then sponsors and distinguished guests were introduced, and we heard some speeches.　Colonel Newell, commander of Yokota AB., expressed appreciation on support and advice to Yokota AB. which were provided by neighbor communities and local governments.　And he said, "we would like to think great deal of interchange and friendship between local community from now".　After then, we had Sake-barrel opening ceremony, drunk a toast, and enjoyed dinner and conversation.　During party, traditional Japanese music was performed by Sankyoku musical group of Akiruno city.　Lastly we had ceremonial hand clapping at conclusion of party.
