On 16th May, JAAGA supported that members of 730th Air Mobility Squadron
stationed at Yokota AB. visited Second Air Transportation Groups stationing
at Iruma AB. JAAGA secretariat Ochi and Minamoto supported on their visiting. Col.Stuart
L.Haire (Commander of 730th Air Mobility Sq.(AMC)) and Cap.Gina Jennings (Commander of Transportation Flt.) and 12
members arrived at Iruma AB with USAF bus. Then Col. Haire and representatives
of group had a courtesy visit to Colonel Akiyuki Nitta (Commander of 2nd
Air Transportation Group (2nd ATG)). Col.Haire and Col.Nitta, both are
cargo pilots, and participated to operation of Humanitarian Relief and
Reconstruction in Iraq. Conversation between them was very friendly. After
moving to 402nd Squadron's office, they received briefing about outline
of 2nd ATG and equipment. 730th squadron is part of AMC's en route system
to provide fixed and deployed maintenance, aerial port. Though they have
no aircraft, members listened explanation on JASDF air transportation system
with interest. From 3p.m., they observed C-1 cargo plane and U-4 multi-support
aircraft. They showed interest on port facilities and equipment, then asked
expositor many questions about JASDF's equipment etc. At 3:30p.m., this
tour ended successfully. We expect mutual visiting between this two squadron
would be frequent after this. (Reported by Secretariat Minamoto)
