JAAGA president Toutake accompanying with chairperson Hirose and secretariat
Yamamoto had a courtesy visit to Brig.Gen. Angelella, vice commander of
Fifth Air Force (5AF/CV), on 11st March.
At the beginning of this visit, president Toutake said "Today's
visiting purpose is to express our sincere congratulations and best wishes
of inauguration as vice commander of 5th Air Force to you. We think that
post of 5AF/CV is very important, because 5AF/CV serves concurrently as
vice commander of 13rd Air Force. As you know, when General Eberhart was
commander of 5AF, JAAGA was established by our seniors in order to improve
mutual understanding and to deepen friendship between USAF and JASDF airmen,
and we have done many kind of projects since founding. We have had great
supports by 5AF/CCs and his staffs, base commanders of Misawa, Yokota and
Kadena and many USAF airmen in order to proceed our projects"
Gen. Angelella replied "I worked as aide of Gen.Eberhart and was
transfered as flight squadron commander at Misawa AB, and as commander
of Misawa AB. Today I have 3rd duty in Japan as 5AF/CV. I am very happy. By
the way, after I heard my new assignment in Japan, I could have best golf
score."
Then Gen. Angelella asked us "Do you have any support nessessary
now?" So secretariat Yamamoto handed JAAGA brochure, and he requested
to join SPORTEX and to support for lecture at JAAGA general meeting which
is scheduled in coming May.
President Toutake is very acquainted with Gen.Angelella since he was
aide for Gen. Eberhart, honorary member, so this courtesy visit was very
genial.
