On 11 Aug.(Mon), JAAGA President Toutake paid a courtesy visit to Lt.Gen.Rice, USFJ/CC and 5AF/CC, accompanied with Chairman Hirose and Secretariat Yamamoto.
　　At the beginning, president Toutake said, "today I have official courtesy visit to you with JAAGA president assumption.　When General Eberhart was Commander of Fifth Air Force, JAAGA was established by efforts of many Japan and US seniors to improve mutual understanding and friendship between US Air Force and Japan Air Self Defense Force.　JAAGA has carried out many kinds of activities since establishing, and we could greet twelves anniversary this year.　During past 12 years, we had great support to our activities by successive commanders and staffs of Fifth Air Force, commanders and staffs of Misawa, Yokota and Kadena Air Base.　We feel greatly appreciation about this, and we would like to request you great supports like before.　And we thank you on your back up to Tsubasa-Kai tour to AFA annual convention in coming September."
　　Commander Rice commented "we US Air Force recognizes about importance of US-Japan alliance enough, and post excellent talented persons as vice commander of 5AF, and as commanders of Misawa, Yokota and Kadena Air Base.　After their assignment in Japan, they take active parts in USAF's important posts now.　I think JAAGA activities is very effective for improving of mutual understanding friendship between USAF and JASDF (outline)".
　　Then Chairman Hirose handed Gen.Rice papers about JAAGA annual program, and explained Nebuta-Festival and Nikko Tour as example.
　　General replied "the other day, our staff reported me about interchange between JAAGA and us.　I think that each event of JAAGA is important for us and adjustment process on it by each staffs is very important, too.　Please ask us anything if you want anytime (outline)."　We promised to get together at SPORTEX'08A on 5th Sept., and left the base.　(Reported by secretariat Yamamoto)
