On 6 (Sat.) Aug., Col. Rothstein (commander of 35th Fighter Wing and Misawa AB), group commanders of 35FW and US servicemen and their families participated in Aomori Nebuta Festival 2011, which is one of the biggest festivals in Northern Japan (Tohoku).　Mr.Maruyama (the head of JAAGA Misawa branch) and Mr.Yamamoto (secretary of branch) supported for their participating. The festival watchwords of this year is "Let the peoples of Tohoku do their best for the restoration from East Japan earthquake disaster of March this year".　Many tourists from the whole country were rooting for the Nebuta participants who were excitingly dancing and shouting "Rassera Rassera" around the decorated Nebuta floats.
