For more than 40 years since its establishment, JASDF, together with USAF, has kept securing sovereignty of Japan in the sky.  It is no exaggeration to say that the power of JASDF depends on the relationship of trust between the two air forces.

On the other hand, there is no denying that Japan-US security relations has been relatively scarce because of changes to the international environment after the end of the Cold War as well as changing economic relations between Japan and the U.S.  Unfortunate event made government-level formalities complicated and the reaction of Japanese citizens has largely been affecting the morale of US military personnel and their families.

In these severe situation, it is very important for those who share the experience of being in the air force to strive for more reliable Japan-US relations, which tend to weaken when neglected. We, the thankful JASDF veterans who feel indebted to USAF and believe that strong ties between JASDF and USAF is indispensable for national security, have determined, under “Tsubasa-kai”, to powerfully back active duty JASDF and USAF personnel, by organizing individual efforts, encouraging and raising morale of the members of USAF, deepening mutual trust between JASDF and USAF, and hoping to impart on US citizens a greater feeling of trust.

This is the birth of JAAGA.
